At Premier Dental Solutions, patient education is a priority. When you have your appointment with our dentist, Dr. Doralio S. Millan, and our team, we will do everything we can to ensure that you understand all of your treatment options, and of course we encourage you to ask questions at any time! We have compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions below. Please call 305-271-7500 if you need more information about any aspect of your treatment or would like to make an appointment in Miami, Florida.

Are dental implants painful?

No. Your jawbone itself does not have any nerves, and our team uses the best pain-management techniques to make sure that you are comfortable throughout the treatment. You may experience some sensitivity in your gums after your implants have been placed, but your gums should heal quickly after your visit as long as you follow your aftercare instructions and see Dr. Millan for your follow-up visits.

A dental implant is one of the best ways to replace missing or severely damaged teeth, and we will make sure that your experience is comfortable and convenient.

Will your office accept my insurance?

We accept most dental insurance plans and will take the time to help you file your claims and get the most out of your benefits. We suggest you contact our office at 305-271-7500 and your insurance company before your appointment to confirm your coverage. You can learn more about financing your dental care on our financial options page

We understand that you need to stay within a budget, but we don’t want financial concerns to keep you from getting the dental care you need. We will be happy to work with you to create a treatment plan that will fit your smile and your budget.

Do you see children?

We often see children as young as age two, but we welcome all members of your family, from the oldest to the youngest. We encourage you to bring your child to our office every six months for a regular dental exam and cleaning. We understand that it is important to build a positive, trusting relationship between your child and all of their doctors at a young age, and we are dedicated to ensuring that your child feels comfortable and safe at our office. If you have any questions about your child’s dental health or oral development, we welcome you to ask us during the visit or by calling our office.

In addition to bringing your child to our office for regular checkups, it is important that you help your child establish good oral hygiene habits at home. Dr. Millan is looking forward to seeing every member of your family at our office soon!

Do you provide whitening treatments?

Yes, we do! If you take a walk down the dental aisle of any grocery or box store, you will see that the shelves are full of products that claim they can give you a bright, white smile. But not all of these products may do what they claim and not all of them may be right for your smile, and if you do not use them as instructed, you could risk dental damage.

When you see Dr. Millan for a whitening treatment, you can be confident that it will be safe and that you will see the results you want! We customize a treatment just for you and can whiten your teeth in our office, or we can provide you with a kit you can use at home to whiten your teeth on your own time.

Do you provide braces?

Dr. Millan has been providing orthodontic services to our patients for twenty years. As a practicing dentist, Dr. Millan has the benefit of years of experience in dentistry and orthodontics. We suggest that your child have an orthodontic screening by age seven, which will give us the chance to address any alignment issues before they become serious and perhaps avoid further treatment when they get older.

Keep in mind that orthodontics is not just for young people! Many adults, young and old, are opting for straighter smiles, and it is never too late to explore your options and start treatment. Dr. Millan will be happy to see every member of your family to discuss your options for improving your smile!

What are dental inlays and onlays?

You may have a cavity or damage that needs to be treated with something more than a filling but is not serious enough to require a crown. When that happens, Dr. Millan may suggest a dental inlay or onlay. We can use an inlay to repair damage that does not reach the cusp of your tooth. If the cusp is damaged, we will recommend an onlay to better protect the biting or chewing surface of your tooth.

In our office, we can create your custom inlay or onlay in one visit using CEREC technology. This means that you do not have to wait a week or more wearing temporary dental work. You can leave our office on the same day with a healthy and restored tooth.
