What are dental onlays?
When we approach dental treatment, we take a conservative stance. We will provide you with information about all of your options based on your needs and help you make the best decision for your health.
When you damage a tooth, we may recommend a dental restoration. A dental onlay is a restoration that is similar to a crown, but it does not cover all the surfaces of your teeth. This allows us to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible while still stabilizing your tooth.
Because we use CEREC technology, we can provide you with your restoration in one dental visit. We use computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing to design and create your dental restoration while you wait.
We start with a digital impression of your tooth. Unlike the gooey impression material of the past, digital impressions provide greater comfort and accuracy. We upload your information to our CEREC software, which communicates with our computerized milling device to create your onlay out of one piece of ceramic.
Ceramic is strong and reliable. With the proper care and preventive treatments, your dental restorations can last many years, giving you a comfortable and reliable smile that you can feel proud of.
